Eichel Ends Leaf's Win Streak

The three-game winning streak ended yesterday for the Toronto Maple Leafs as the team was defeated 6-4 by the Buffalo Sabres.

The Leafs went ahead 2-0 with goals by team captain, John Tavares in both the first and second periods.

The Sabres, however, scored four unanswered goals in the second period to go ahead 4-2.

"We were really sloppy with the puck," said Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe after the game.  "We didn't have the same level of play."

Sabre's captain. Jack Eichel, scored two goals in the game, including an empty-netter in the third period.

Eichel had three points yesterday.

Jeff Skinner, Casey Mittelstadt, Victor Olofsson, and Jimmy Vesey all scored for Buffalo.

Dmytro Timashov and Kasperi Kapanen also scored for the Leafs.

Kapanen had two points.

Toronto's goalie, Michael Hutchinson, stopped 30 shots.

Buffalo's Marco Scandella had two assists.
