Barrie Finally Scores First Goal, Keefe Gets His First NHL Win

The losing skid is over.

The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Arizona Coyotes 3-1 last night, giving new head coach, Sheldon Keefe his first National Hockey League win.

"The guys went out and played with confidence," said Keefe after the game.

There was two more firsts surrounding this game.

Tyson Barrie finally scored his first goal as a Leaf at 19:14 of the first period.

Then, at 16:49 of the second period, Pierre Engvall scored his first ever NHL goal short handedly.

48 seconds into the third period, Auston Matthews put the Leafs ahead 3-0 with his 15th goal of the season.

Unfortunately, Toronto didn't get the shut out as Vinnie Hinostroza scored with the extra attacker at 19:43.

Toronto's Ilya Mikheyev had two assists.

Leaf's goalie, Frederik Andersen, stopped 30 shots.

Coyote's goalie, Darcy Kuemper, also stopped 30 shots last night.

Toronto is in Colorado tomorrow night to take on the Avalanche.
