Yankees Win Despite Committing Three Errors

Before I get into yesterday's game, I want to share my thoughts on the New York Yankees.

I don't know if they're as dominate team as some baseball fans think.

This past weekend, the Yankees played the Toronto Blue Jays.  A team that is definitely not going to play in October.

Yet, the Yankees just outscored Toronto 9-3.

New York also committed three errors yesterday.

This is not usually how the Yankees play against a below average team.

The Yankees usually walk all over team such as the Blue Jays.

The Yankees are probably going to make the postseason, but how far is New York go into the playoffs?

Not far if the team continues to play the way they're playing now.

Anyway, back to yesterday's game.

The Yankee's defeated Toronto 4-2 and won the weekend series.

The Yankees went ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning when Gio Urshela hit a two run single.

(Above) Gio Urshela

Toronto tied the game 2-2 at the top of the fifth inning with solo home runs by Randal Grichuk and Eric Sogard.

New York went ahead again in the bottom of the fifth when Urshela scored on a wild pitch.

Urshela went two for four at the plate and had two RBIs.

Mike Touchman put the game out of reach in the bottom of the seventh inning with a solo home run.

Toronto's Danny Jansen went two for four at the plate.

Despite the loss, Toronto starting pitcher, Marcus Stroman, had a good day on the mound.

Marcus Stroman

Stroman went six innings, giving up seven hits, three earned runs, two walks, and struck out seven batters.

Yankee's starter, Masahiro Tanaka, also went six innings, giving up just four hits, two earned runs, no walks, and struck out five batters.

Yankee's closer Arodis Chapman, picked up his 25th save yesterday.
