Rumour Mill: Is There Trouble In Columbus?
Columbus Blue Jacket's John Tortorella is known as a no nonsense coach, but has he gone too far.
At the beginning of the season, there were rumours that Tortorella and Pierre-Luc Dubios weren't getting along.
Then, all of a sudden, Columbus traded Dubois to the Winnipeg Jets for Patrik Laine.
Problem solved right?
No.
Shortly after Laine started playing with Columbus, Tortorella benched him.
This created rumours of Laine and Tortorella butting heads.
Laine quickly dismissed the allegations and said he was responsible.
Last week, however, it happened again.
Tortorella benched Laine for the last seven minutes of a game.

Brees Calls It Quits
Brees was drafted in the second round by the San Diego Chargers in 2001.
Brees played five years in San Diego before joining the Saints in 2006.
There, (New Orleans), Brees didn't play as a second rounder.
In the 15 seasons with the Saints Brees had a Hall Of Fame career.
He led the Saints to nine playoff runs, seven division titles, three National Football Conference Championship game appearances, and the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XLIV.
He was Super Bowl XLIV's Most Valuable Player.
Brees played 287 regular season games, had a 172-114 career record, 7,142 completions, 80,358 passing yards, and 571 touchdowns.

Dak Gets New Deal
I know that it has been a while since I wrote an entry in this blog
.
I'm writing today because there was a huge signing in the National Football League this week.
Quarterback, Dak Prescott has finally signed a new contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
Prescott signed a four-year, $160 million contract with the team.
I do wonder, though, if Prescott is worth this amount of money.
During the five seasons with the Cowboys, Prescott has won the Rookie Of The Year, (2016), is a two time Pro Bowler, and has a 42-27 record.
With all this on his resume, it is hard to say no to the fact that Prescott didn't earned the contract.
Here is my problem with the contract.
Prescott hardly played last season.
First he held out for a new contract and then he suffered a season ending ankle injury in week five.
Is Prescott going to play as a two time Pro Bowler next year or is he going to fail.
There's a good amount of pressure on him now.
Why do I say this?
Remember what happened to Carson Wentz when he signed a big contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. That guy is with the Indianapolis Colts.

Game Four Of World Series Goes Down As Memorable
How do you describe last night's World Series game?
Whacky.
That all I can think of.
As I watched what unfolded in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game Four, I was beleaguer.
I was astonished on what I was seeing.
The Tampa Bay Rays were down 7-6 to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Tampa had two on base and were down to their last out when Brett Phillips stepped up to the plate.
Phillips hit a blooper into right field.
The tying run scored and then the unthinkable happened.
Randy Arozarena rounded third base to try to score the winning run.
On the way, Arozarena tripped and started to go back to third until he realized there was a throwing error at home plate.
Arozarena scored on the error and his teammates rejoiced.
Phillips ran around the field in an airplane motion.
Yes, it was quite a scene.
The last time I saw a World Series game end this way was back in 1986. I was 14 years old.
This is why I watch the World Series, even if the Toronto Blue Jays are not in it.
You just don't know what is going to happen.
I now wonder what impact this game is going to have on Phillips career.
Whatever happens in Phillips career, it is safe to say that last night, he had his shining moment.

NHL Regular Season Over. Playoffs Through The Summer
National Hockey League's commissioner, Gary Bettman, announced plans to resume the season this year yesterday.
First of all, Bettman declared the 2019/20 regular season is over.
In a modified format, the league is going straight to the playoffs with 12 teams from the Eastern and Western Conference.
There's a round-robin, a best-of-five and best-of-seven series in this format.
Honestly, I think this is a joke, especially that the Montreal Canadiens are amongst the 24 teams.
The Habs. were on the brink of missing the playoffs when the season was halted.
This is not set in stone, though.
Bettman said this is going to take place if health officials feels that it is safe.
Training camp is scheduled to start on July 1.
That means playoffs going to take place in the summer months.
