Jays Hammer KC. And Take Series

The Toronto Blue Jays celebrated Canada Day in a big way yesterday, hammering the Kansas City Royals 11-4.

The Jays not just got the win yesterday, but the team also won the four game series.

Toronto's outfielder, Randal Grichuk, went four for five at the plate and collected four RBIs.

Grichuk's teammate, Cavan Biggio, also had four RBIs.

Jay's starting pitcher, Clayton Richard, had a good day on the mound.

Richard went six innings, giving up seven hits, three earned runs, a walk, and struck out four batters.

Things didn't go right for KC., though,

Royal's pitcher, Glenn Sparkman, struggled on the mound yesterday.  He went just three innings, giving up nine hits, eight earned runs, a walk, and struck out a batter.

Whit Merrifield went two for four at the plate and collected a RBI.

BOS: David Price - 5-2.

TOR: Trent Thornton - 2-5.

Things are a little better for the Jays now days.

The team is 5-6 in their last 10 games.

As for the Boston Red Sox, the team have gone back to their losing ways, including two losses to the New York Yankees in the London Series this past weekend.

Price faced Toronto on May 20.  Boston hammered the Jays 12-2.

Thornton faced Boston on May 21.  Boston won that game 7-5.

J.D. Martinez has hit .667 off of Thornton this season.

Justin Smoak has hit .500 off of Price this season.
