It Was One Of Those Night's For Thornton

(Top), Rough night for Trent Thornton

Toronto Blue Jay's starting pitcher, Trent Thornton, just didn't have it last night.

Thornton lasted just 1.1 innings in a 10-8 loss to the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Thornton gave up five hits, five earned runs, three walks, and had no strike outs.

Toronto's Billy McKinney went two for four the plate and collected two RBIs.

Boston's Mike Chavis went 1 for 3 at the plate and had four RBIs.

Chavis's teammate, Andrew Benintendi, had three RBIs last night.

Red Sox's starting pitcher, Rick Porcello, went six innings, giving up eight hits, four earned runs, no walks, and struck out two batters.

Red Sox's closer, Brandon Workman picked up his fourth save last night.

TOR: Jacob Waguespack 0-1.

BOS: Andrew Cashner - 9-3.

The Blue Jay's offense is facing a tough pitcher tonight.

 Cashner last faced the Jays as a Baltimore Oriole on July 6.  Baltimore hammered the Toronto 8-1.

Waguespack has never faced Boston as a starter.

Luke Maile has hit .500 off of Cashner this season.

Christian Vazquez has hit .667 off of Waguespack this season.
