IT'S OFFICIAL: Blue Jays Decline Bautista's $17 Million Option
Jose Bautista's days with the Toronto Blue Jays are definitely numbered now.
The team has made it official. The club has declined Bautista's $17 million mutual option for next year.
This means that Bautista is probably going to go somewhere else by the start of next season.
2017 was probably Bautista's worse season ever.
Bautista hit just 23 home runs, 65 RBIs, and had a career low .203 batting average.
Bautista has been a member of the Blue Jays since 2008.
During the 14 years in the Major Leagues, Bautista has 1430 hits, a .250 batting average, 331 home runs, 927 RBIs, and 66 stolen bases.
Update: Jose Bautista has officially became a free agent today.
