After 20 years of playing Major League Baseball, Carlos Beltran has announced his retirement 12 days after his Houston Astros won their first ever World Series title.

A nine-time all-star, the 40 year-old won the American League Rookie Of The Year in 1999 and has three Gold Glove Awards.

In 2017, Beltran hit .231, had 14 home runs, and had 51 RBIs.

That's a far cry from his 2016 statistics where he hit .279 with 29 homers, 93 RBIs with the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers.

Beltran finishes his career with a .279 batting average, 435 home runs, 1,587 RBIs, and 312 stolen bases.

Beltran was also a member of the Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
