Red Sox Hires Alex Cora As their New Manager

The Boston Red Sox have just hired their former second baseman, Alex Cora s their new manager.

Cora replaces John Farrell, who was fired earlier last week.

Cora played 14 seasons in the Major Leagues.

Seven with the Los Angeles Dodgers, four with Boston, and two with the New York Mets.

Cora also played a season with the Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, and the Washington Nationals.

Cora hit a .243 lifetime, hit 35 home runs, and had 286 RBIs.

In 2003, Cora led the league in putouts and double plays by a second baseman.
