Tavares Scores Two As Toronto Edges Lightning

Just when you think that the Toronto Maple Leafs won't do it, the team does.

The Leafs managed to edge the Tampa Bay Lightning last night 4-3.

 Nikita Kucherov scored the game's first goal at 9:46 of the opening period.

Jake Muzzin tied the game at 12:48.

Leaf's Captain, John Tavares, scored on the power play at 16:42 to put the Leafs ahead 2-1.

John Tavares scored two goals last night.

Pat Maroon tied the game at 11:54 of the second period.

Tavares scored his second goal of the night at 12:25 to put the Leafs ahead 3-2.

William Nylander made it a 4-2 game at 14:21.

"That's a big time goal," said Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe, after the game.

Yahni Gourde scored Tampa's third goal at 7:27 of the third period.

Toronto's Tyson Barrie had two assists.

Lightning's Kevin Shattenkirk also had two assists last night.

Toronto plays the Florida Panthers tomorrow night.
