Matthews Gets Four Points In Ugly Leaf's Win Over Ducks

The Toronto Maple Leafs got the job done, but it wasn't a good win, though.

Toronto defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-4 in overtime last night in a really lack lustre performance.

"I happy to get our two points," said Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe after the game.

Keefe, however, also said he was disappointed on how his team played, especially in the third period.

Andreas Johansson put the Leafs up 1-0 at 4:36 of the first period.

Nicolas Deslauriers tied the game six minutes later.

John Tavares scored a power play goal at 3:38 of the second period.

Auston Matthews made it 3-1 Toronto with his 40th goal of the season at 13:18.

Matthews had a four point night.

Unfortunately, Toronto started to play sloppy near the end of the second.

The sloppy play continued in the third period.

Max Jones scored a short handed goal at 8:34.

Adam Henrique tied the game on the power play at 12:47.

Jason Spezza put Toronto back on top at 16:33.

With the extra attacker, Derek Grant tied the game at 19:02 to force the game to go to overtime.

With just 7 seconds to go in O.T., Tavares scored the winner.

Tavares had three points.

Toronto's Mitch Marner, had three assists.

Anaheim's Cam Fowler had two assists.

Duck's goalie, Ryan Miller, stopped 30 shots last night.

Toronto is in Montreal tonight to play the Canadiens.
