Canucks Edge Leafs 2-1 Last Night

Jacob Markstrom stopped 35 shots in Canucks win over Leafs.

It was a low scoring game last night as the Vancouver Canucks edge the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1.

Canuck's goalie, Jacob Markstrom, had a fantastic game, stopping 35 shots.

Before the game, though, Canuck's Daniel Sedin was honored for reaching the 1000th career point plateau recently.

In the first period, the Canucks went ahead 2-0 with goals by Markus Granlund and Alexander Edler.

There was no scoring in the second period.

The Leafs finally got on the scoreboard late in the third period with a goal by James Van Riemsdyk.

Toronto hosts the Calgary Flames Wednesday night.

The last time the two teams met, Toronto won 4-1.
