Jays Rains On Bautista's Homecoming

The Toronto Blue Jays rained of Jose Bautista's homecoming by defeating the New York Mets 8-6 after the team went up 5-0 in the first four innings of the game.

Randal Grichuk drove in Russell Martin with a double in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Michael Conforto put the Mets ahead by five runs again at the top of the seventh inning, driving in Brandon Nimmo with a double.

The Jays made their big comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning.

First, Randal Grichuk scored on a routine ground out by Lourdes Gurriel Junior.

Then, Devon Travis scored on a wild pitch.

Finally in the seventh inning, Yangervis Solarte hit a three run homer.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Gurriel Jr. hit a two run homer.

Both Solarte and Gurriel had three RBIs.

Game Two is tonight.
