Jays Edge Tigers In First Of Four

Marcus Stroman, (Above), won his first game of the season last night.

Toronto Blue Jay's pitcher, Marcus Stroman, finally won his first win of the season, helping his team to a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers last night.

Stroman went seven innings, giving up just four hits, an earned run, no walks and struck out four batters.

The Tigers scored first at the top of the third inning when Jacoby Jones scored on a double play.

Toronto went ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Justin Smoak hit a two run homer.

Later that same inning, Randal Grichuk drove in Russell Martin with a single to make it 3-1 Jays.

At the top of the seventh inning, Jeimer Candelario closed the gap by hitting a solo home run, but the Jays held on to win the game.

Smoak went 1 for 3 and collected two RBIs.
